Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Cirus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cosmo Carboni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cirus comes to the cage accompanied by Lonely Boy - The Black Keys. Cosmo Carboni has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Carboni as Cirus shoots in. And Carboni tries to counter it with a takedown but Cirus pushes his down on his head and steps out. A swing and a miss from Carboni. Cirus feinted with a counter takedown. Tom Cirus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cirus dives in for a single leg takedown but Carboni sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Cirus looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Cirus stopping the sweep attempt from Carboni. Cirus postures up in Carboni's guard and throws a big left but Carboni blocks it. Cirus throws a big right hand that misses. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cirus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Cirus with a flurry of punches that miss. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cirus tries to free his leg and advance position but Carboni is retaining full guard. Cirus in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Cirus wants to control from the top but Carboni keeps moving.

Cirus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cirus is looking to work some ground and pound but Carboni has wrist control. Cirus might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cirus throwing strikes but missing. Cirus throws a big elbow that misses. Cirus is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Cirus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Cirus throws a big right hand that misses. Carboni working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cirus. We've been hearing that Cirus has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Cirus throws a big right hand that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cirus wants to get back to his feet but Carboni is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carboni gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Cirus fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Carboni steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Cirus. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Cirus. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cirus shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Carboni defends it nicely. Cirus has a takedown stuffed. Carboni looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cirus tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carboni sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cirus somewhat. Cosmo Carboni is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cirus shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Carboni utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Carboni wants to sweep here but Cirus controlling him for the moment. Cirus landing with the ground and pound. Cirus missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Cirus trying to control the position from guard on top but Carboni is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carboni is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Cirus postures up in Carboni's guard and throws a big left but Carboni blocks it. Carboni has Cirus pulled in close to control his posture. Cirus lands a couple of digs. Carboni utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Carboni working a defensive guard here.
Cirus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carboni swivels though and keeps the full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cirus throws a big right hand that misses. Cirus throws a big right hand that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tom Cirus dominated that round. That's time! Cirus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Cirus shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carboni pinned against the cage. Carboni gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cirus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carboni tries to avoid it but Cirus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carboni to the ground. Carboni escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A lazy left from Cirus finds it's target. Cirus defending well as Carboni loads up on a big left hand. Carboni misses with a hook. Cirus is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Carboni can do to turn this around? Cirus has a takedown stuffed. Carboni unleashes a big counter combination but Cirus bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Cirus. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cirus is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carboni sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. As Cirus backs off Carboni throws a huge counter combo but Cirus manages to avoid it all. Cirus tries for a takedown but Carboni circles away easily and Carboni counters with a nice right hand that sends Cirus toppling to the canvas! Cirus scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Carboni finish him?!
Cirus is rocked!
It looks like Tom Cirus has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cirus switches off momentarily and Carboni cracks him with a monster right hand! Cirus topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Carboni dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Carboni!
