Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aleksei Marshal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Marshal might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to ЦельРазгроl. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mason Marshall was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aleksei Marshal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mason Marshall! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshal throws a low kick but Marshall moves out of range easily. We've been told by Marshal's head coaches at The Coffee Shop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Marshall changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. A nice inside leg kick there by Marshal. That's going to slow Marshall down. Mason Marshall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marshal dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Marshall. That did some damage! Marshal connects with a right hand. Marshall shakes it off. Marshall throws a hook but Marshal avoids it easily. Marshal motions for Marshall to come forward. Marshal throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Marshall misses with a looping right. Marshal throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Marshal looks for the body kick but Marshall saw that one coming. Marshal throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. And Marshall tries to counter it with a takedown but Marshal pushes his down on his head and steps out. Marshal fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Marshall. Marshal does a little dance to reset his feet. Marshall checks the leg kick nicely there.
Marshal throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Marshall counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Marshal! Marshal throws Marshall to one side and escapes! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Marshall misses the shot to the body. Marshal half committed to a counter leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jab by Marshal. Marshall scores with a jab to the body. Marshal takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Marshall tests Marshal's chin there with a solid looking shot. Aleksei Marshal is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Marshall works Marshal's body with a nice hook. Marshal misses with a kick to the body.
Marshal moves into the clinch. Marshall is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Marshal to keep the fight standing. Marshall's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Marshal is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Marshal misses with a body punch.
Marshall pulls guard effortlessly. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marshal controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Marshal postures up in Marshall's guard and throws a big left but Marshall blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marshall trying to keep a closed guard but Marshal is proving a slippery customer.
Marshal stopping the sweep attempt from Marshall. Marshal forces his way into half guard. Marshal is taking a breather. Marshall says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marshall moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Marshall looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Marshall wants to stand up but Marshal is controlling him. Marshal stands up from Marshall's guard - Marshal perhaps looking for a knockout. Marshall is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Marshal rather than just go for the knockout. Marshal gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Marshall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Marshall paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Marshall throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marshal stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Marshall fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Marshal throws a lazy right hand but Marshall sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Marshall throws a right hand that misses

It looks like Mason Marshall has been cut. Marshal lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Marshall at a distance.
Marshall throws a body punch but Marshal moves out of range. Good work by Marshall as he checks the leg kick. Marshal wants to land a leg kick but Marshall is out of range. Some wild striking there from Marshall.

That was a close round but I would say that Aleksei Marshal will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Mason Marshall's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marshall misses the jab. Marshall swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A counter left hand to the body from Marshal misses its target. Marshall thuds a left hand into Marshal's body. Marshal fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Marshall is out of range. Marshal is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Marshall closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Marshal lands a lovely overhand right. Marshal ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marshall moves away. The crowd cheers as Marshall lands an impressive looking overhand right. Marshal doesn't seem phased though. Marshall ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Marshal lunges at Marshall with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Marshall's hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marshal lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Marshall throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Marshall connects with a body shot that sends Marshal's belly button to the back. Marshal throws a leg kick and Marshall counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marshall wants to pass to mount but Marshal is defending the position. Marshall throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Marshall scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Marshal desperately trying to maintain half guard. Marshall throwing shots but Marshal is blocking nicely. Marshall not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Marshal is trying to stand.
Marshall is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marshal regains half guard. Marshall scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Marshall throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Marshall looks to land a strike but Marshal avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Marshal controlling Marshall's posture. Marshal manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Marshal misses with a body punch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Marshal's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Marshal works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marshal trying to control the position from guard on top but Marshall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Aleksei Marshal will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Mason Marshall's cut. That's the end of the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Marshal thows a body kick. Marshall tries to catch it but that hurt him. Marshall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Marshal shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Marshall moves out of range of the body kick. Marshall swings for the body but Marshal moves out of range.

Marshall changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Marshal misses the shot to the body. A slow jab from Marshal misses its intended target. Marshall is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Marshall stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Marshal works the jab nicely. Marshall scores with a nice right hand.

Mason Marshall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Marshall shoots for a double leg takedown but Marshal sprawls well. He's pushed Marshall's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Aleksei Marshal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mason Marshall. Marshall lands a nice looking body shot.

Marshal lands with a short shot to the head. Still in the clinch, Marshal scores with a nice short uppercut. Marshall's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Marshal gets through Marshall's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Marshal lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Marshal gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Marshal scores with an uppercut up the middle.
And that's the end of the fight! Aleksei Marshal showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Marshal, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
