Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Lombard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jason Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hector Lombard! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lombard tries for a takedown but Carter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. No joy there for Lombard, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lombard throws a one two combo.
Lombard closes the distance looking to clinch and Carter counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Lombard is trying to escape back to his feet but Carter uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Carter lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lombard takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carter controls the position. Lombard tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Carter trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Lombard doesn't escape. Lombard trying to get back to his feet but Carter is in full control for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Lombard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carter is punishing Lombard with some ground and pound. Carter slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Lombard wants to escape the position.
Carter lands a shot to the body. Carter is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Lombard is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. Carter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lombard. Carter throws a quick counter kick to the body but Lombard avoids it. Carter avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter darts in and clinches Lombard up against the cage. Carter has clasped his hands together around Lombard's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lombard is looking for a sweep. Lombard sneaks out the side door and pushes Carter away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Lombard misses with a few strikes there.
A combination from Lombard does no damage. Carter throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Lombard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Carter is looking to land body kicks. Lombard scores with a one two! Carter had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Lombard throws a series of punches but Carter moves out of range. Lombard looks winded! Lombard tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carter swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lombard throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Some wild striking there from Lombard.
Carter closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lombard did well to prevent Carter getting side control. Lombard scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Carter manages to mount him!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lombard can do anything to dispel that myth. Carter has hold of Lombard's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lombard manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Carter is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lombard can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Carter putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Carter looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Carter lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lombard hang on? Lombard is looking to improve his position but Carter isn't that keen on the idea. Lombard tries to improve his position but instead Carter has taken his back! Carter has his opponent's back but Lombard is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Carter. Carter tries to bum rush Lombard with a series of wild strikes but Lombard uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lombard throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carter. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. No joy there for Lombard, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Carter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Carter passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Lombard! Carter working for a submission but Lombard is keeping him at bay. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jason Carter will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Lombard pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Carter back to the cage. Lombard follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Sloppy strikes from Lombard. Those never looked like landing. Carter swats away the attempt to clinch by Lombard. Lombard gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Carter prevents Lombard from getting back to his feet. Lombard manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Carter breaks the clinch.
Lombard tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carter swivels and escapes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lombard misses with a series of wild punches.
Lombard is breathing heavily. A combination from Lombard does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lombard will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
It looked like Carter was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Lombard fails to land with a series of punches.
Carter moves into range and clinches up with Lombard. Carter pulls Lombard into guard.
Lombard pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carter is keeping the position for now. Carter keeping moving, preventing Lombard from controlling successfully. Carter looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lombard wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving. Carter wants to get back to his feet but Lombard is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lombard wants to pass the guard but Carter is keeping the position. Lombard is posturing up here but Carter has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Lombard tries to roll out but it's too tight and Lombard has to tap! Slick submission there by Carter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jason Carter! After winning the bout, Jason Carter thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
