Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bo LeClaire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bo LeClaire has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bo LeClaire!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

LeClaire gets a double leg takedown into Castro's guard.
Castro is wriggling around but LeClaire manages to pass to half guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
LeClaire performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
LeClaire is thwarting Castro's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
LeClaire perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Castro is looking to control LeClaire's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Castro avoid being mounted?

LeClaire seems to be working for a kimura but Castro defends the submission attempt.
Castro is looking for a sweep. LeClaire is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
LeClaire seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

LeClaire looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
LeClaire takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Castro trying to hold on to LeClaire's head to control him but LeClaire postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

LeClaire fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Castro to the ground. LeClaire is now in Castro's guard.
LeClaire throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Castro works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Castro wants to sweep but no luck.
LeClaire slips nicely into half guard.
Castro moves into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
LeClaire is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
It looks like LeClaire might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Castro knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for LeClaire on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

LeClaire is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
LeClaire looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Castro is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst LeClaire is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
LeClaire uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Castro.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

LeClaire decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Castro has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. LeClaire is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



LeClaire fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Castro sprawls well initially but LeClaire persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Castro wants to get back to full guard.
LeClaire wants to free his trapped foot but Castro is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Castro is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute LeClaire jumps into side control!

LeClaire stands up.
LeClaire has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

LeClaire scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

LeClaire is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Castro will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
LeClaire advances to mount.
LeClaire controlling from mount.
Castro is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
LeClaire avoids the attempt from Castro to control.
LeClaire trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Castro holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as LeClaire tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Castro keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
LeClaire has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
LeClaire looking to control and managing it successfully.
Castro tries to lock up and control but LeClaire gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

LeClaire sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

LeClaire avoids the attempt from Castro to control.

LeClaire thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bo LeClaire showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Castro's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



LeClaire closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Castro's guard.
LeClaire is standing up over Castro. Castro looks to escape but LeClaire dives into side control.


LeClaire decides to stand back up. LeClaire steps back and let's Castro get back to his feet.

LeClaire has Castro up against the cage in a clinch.
Castro drops down looking for an ankle pick but LeClaire pulls his leg out and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

LeClaire closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Castro can't do much from the bottom here.
LeClaire controlling the position.
LeClaire has control of an arm but Castro manages to advance to LeClaire's back!
Castro is landing with strikes from the back.
LeClaire has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Castro.
LeClaire is in bad spot here.
LeClaire is trying to get back to his feet but Castro has full control of the position and if anything, LeClaire has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Castro is striking well from the back but LeClaire escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.
LeClaire wants to control but Castro is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Castro throws a strike but LeClaire avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
LeClaire wants to sweep but no luck.

LeClaire is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
LeClaire lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

LeClaire throws a big right hand that misses.

LeClaire prevents Castro from getting back to his feet.
LeClaire trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
LeClaire postures up in Castro's guard and throws a big left but Castro blocks it.
LeClaire is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
LeClaire working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
LeClaire pushes down on Castro's leg and manages to get into half guard.
LeClaire not doing much here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Castro is holding on to half guard well.
LeClaire controlling the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

LeClaire clinches up against the cage.
Castro is working for takedown but LeClaire is calmly controlling the position for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

LeClaire pulls guard successfully.
Castro scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Dan Castro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bo LeClaire is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Castro working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bo LeClaire comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got LeClaire winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
