The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Ford misses with a wild combination.

It looks like John Ford has been cut. The fight moves into the clinch position. Jones wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ford has him pressed against the cage. Jones tries to break free but Ford pushes him back against the cage. Jones wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ford tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jones avoids it. Ford drags the fight down to the ground.
Ford is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jones is aware though and is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
