The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kyo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kyo trying to control the position.
Mayer throws a big right hand that misses.
Kyo wriggles free and stands up.
Mayer lands with a kick to the temple. Kyo shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Mayer looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kyo!
Mayer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kyo is not content to let Mayer control the position.
Mayer controls the position from side control.
Kyo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Mayer missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Mayer is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Kyo is looking to escape.

Mayer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kyo on the ground.
Kyo works his way to full guard. Good work.

Mayer tries to stand but Kyo is controlling from the bottom.
Mayer is sitting in close to Kyo's body. Kyo has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Mayer is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Mayer is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Kyo.
