Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Daryl Darnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pieter Daan Mostert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daryl Darnell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pieter Daan Mostert! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Darnell slips a jab and a cross from Mostert.
Mostert has his takedown stuffed and Darnell counters with a stiff right hand. Mostert will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Darnell half committed to a counter leg kick. Mostert misses with a combination
and Darnell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Darnell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Darnell appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mostert closes this distance looking for a takedown but Darnell circles away. Darnell throws a big counter combination but Mostert scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Daryl Darnell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pieter Daan Mostert. Mostert fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mostert will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Darnell half committed to a counter leg kick. Darnell stuffs the takedown. Mostert misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mostert throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Darnell swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Darnell defending well as Mostert loads up on a big left hand. Daryl Darnell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mostert misses with a takedown attempt and Darnell counters with a straight right hand. Mostert misses with a double jab
enabling Darnell to counter with a crisp jab. Mostert misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A low kick from Mostert misses and Darnell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mostert throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Darnell half committed to a counter leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Darnell showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mostert.
Darnell is looking for a counter combo. Sloppy strikes from Mostert. Those never looked like landing. Darnell seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Mostert misses with a straight right. Mostert shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Darnell manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Mostert pushes down on Darnell's leg and manages to get into half guard. Mostert uses his free foot to push down on Darnell's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Darnell. Darnell keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Darnell is squirming around, avoiding Mostert's attempts to control the action. Darnell tries to lock up and control but Mostert gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Mostert in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mostert is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Darnell can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mostert landing strikes from the mount and Darnell is in trouble! Mostert working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Darnell is desperately trying to improve his position but Mostert has a good base and remains in mount. Mostert controlling the position easily from mount. Darnell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mostert on the ground. Darnell is working to get back to half guard.
Mostert thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Darnell takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pieter Daan Mostert dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Mostert misses with a body shot
and Darnell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mostert throws a combination that misses and Darnell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mostert with a lazy takedown attempt and Darnell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mostert is rocked! Mostert misses with a head kick.

We've been told by Darnell's head coaches at Broken Halo's -Temple of Illumination that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Mostert misses with a series of wild punches.
Darnell throws a big counter combination but Mostert scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Mostert works over Darnell's head and body with a nice combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mostert fails to land with a series of punches.
A quick step to the side and Darnell tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Mostert tries to score a power double leg takedown but Darnell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mostert somewhat. Darnell appears to be looking for a big counter. Mostert shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Darnell counters with a right hand to the body. Mostert fails with a takedown attempt from distance. It looked like Darnell was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Mostert.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mostert shoots in but Darnell avoids the takedown attempt easily. It looked like Darnell wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Mostert misses with a looping right. A combination from Mostert does no damage. A little feinted left hand from Darnell on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Mostert shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Darnell pinned against the cage. Darnell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Pieter Daan Mostert seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mostert throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Darnell counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Mostert looking to score a takedown here. Darnell is defending well but Mostert drives through and ends up in Darnell's guard. Darnell trying to control the position.
Mostert lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Mostert scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Mostert trying to control the position from guard on top but Darnell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Darnell not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mostert throwing strikes but missing. Darnell is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Darnell wants to sweep here but Mostert controlling him for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Daryl Darnell will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Mostert shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Darnell sprawls well. Darnell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mostert gets slowly back to his feet. Darnell swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Mostert with a lazy takedown attempt and Darnell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mostert misses with a takedown and Darnell counters with a left right combination that sends Mostert crashing to the mat - Darnell wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Mostert out for a TKO! Devastating finish!

A very excited looking Daryl Darnell made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
