Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Spencer Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Tennant! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams is looking to clinch. Williams shoots in but Tennant avoids the takedown attempt easily. Williams takes the fight into the clinch. Tennant with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Williams manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Williams tries to land a sweep but no joy. Tennant is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Tennant had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Williams is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tennant Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Williams's back instead. I really don't envy Williams right now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams wants to control his opponent's hands but Tennant gets his hands free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Williams controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Williams preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Tennant. Williams tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams manages to regain half guard. Good work. Williams makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Williams. Williams manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tennant manages to get himself to full guard.

Williams seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Williams throws and elbow that misses. Tennant uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Williams's guard. Nice move by Tennant! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tennant wants to control but Williams is having none of it. Williams is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Tennant has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Tennant!

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Williams is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tennant off and has taken his back! Williams struggling to land strikes to the head as Tennant covers up. Tennant prevents Williams from getting a body triangle. Tennant covering up well under a series of strikes from Williams. Tennant rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tennant looks to clinch and Williams counters with a nice body shot. Williams pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tennant tries to clinch but Williams moves out of range. Tennant wants to clinch. Tennant moves in looking to clinch but Williams pushes him off. Tennant has closed the distance and engaged Williams in a clinch.

Spencer Williams dominated that second round. That's time! Williams's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Tennant tries to clinch but Williams moves away and Williams counters with a one-two to the body. Williams doesn't manage to clinch there - Tennant circles away.
Williams scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Williams lands some shots froms side control. Tennant tries to bench press Williams off him but Williams keeps the position. Williams throws a strike aimed at the side of Tennant's head but Tennant avoids it well. Williams trying to control the position but Tennant is working away. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams tries to advance to mount but Tennant instead regains half guard. Williams is pressing down on Tennant's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tennant is holding on for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Tennant tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Williams paws at him with a jab and circles away. Tennant clinches with his opponent.

Tennant is fighting off a takedown attempt but Williams is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Tennant to the mat. Tennant regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Williams wants to control from the top but Tennant keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tennant is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Williams tries to free his leg and advance position but Tennant is retaining full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Spencer Williams showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Williams, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
