Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dale La Grande (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Kaufmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). La Grande's entrance music is What are you waiting FOR!. A fine choice. Dale La Grande has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dale La Grande!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aaron Kaufmann!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kaufmann feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kaufmann is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kaufmann accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kaufmann stays in close to La Grande's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kaufmann with a nice head shot there.
Kaufmann pushes down on La Grande's leg and manages to get into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kaufmann is trying to control. La Grande wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kaufmann takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kaufmann looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Kaufmann is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and La Grande defends it well.
It looks like Kaufmann is going to stand back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaufmann is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

La Grande pushes Kaufmann off looking to stand but Kaufmann dives back in and keeps control.

Kaufmann is trying to work for a kimura but La Grande is defending well.
La Grande looks like he's trying to stand up.

Kaufmann slips a nice elbow through La Grande's hands, connecting with La Grande's forehead.
La Grande pushes Kaufmann off looking to stand but Kaufmann dives back in and keeps control.
La Grande on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if La Grande tries to get out of the position.
La Grande keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
La Grande avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kaufmann.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

La Grande shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. La Grande showed some decent athleticism there.
Kaufmann has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. La Grande is working away from the top position though.
Kaufmann has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
La Grande wants to get back to his feet.
Kaufmann is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
La Grande tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kaufmann is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Kaufmann dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



La Grande gets a takedown into half guard.
Kaufmann manages to get to full guard.
Kaufmann is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kaufmann might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control La Grande haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Kaufmann has a closed guard, preventing La Grande from standing up.

Kaufmann working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. La Grande doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kaufmann is tightening it up a little... La Grande has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! La Grande reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! La Grande taps out! Nice BJJ there by Kaufmann!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Aaron Kaufmann!
In defeat, Dale La Grande stepped up to the mic, saying 'Life's a BITCH!!!I mean a Beach...ohh and I will be back for the Title!'.
