Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ventura scores with a shot to the body.
Ventura lands a leg kick that knocks Lesnar off balance momentarily.
Lesnar swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lesnar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ventura moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Quentin Ventura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lesnar connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ventura. Ventura circles away out of range and recomposes himself.


It looks like Quentin Ventura has been cut.
Ventura ducks under a wild hook from Lesnar.
Ventura keeps the fight on the outside.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ventura shoots in looking for a takedown but Lesnar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ventura's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lesnar scores with a head kick. Ventura tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Lesnar throws a nice looking combination but Ventura bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lesnar definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lesnar bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ventura is pushing Lesnar's head away, looking to escape. Lesnar manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Lesnar looks up at the clock and then as Ventura takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lesnar smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Ventura throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Lesnar throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ventura cracks Lesnar with a right hand to the side of the head.
Lesnar takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nice takedown defense from Lesnar. No joy for Ventura on that attempt.
Lesnar tries to counter with a takedown but Ventura is quick to defend against it.
Ventura has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Lesnar closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ventura quickly recovers to half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ventura fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Chuck Lesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quentin Ventura.
Ventura thuds his right hand into Lesnar's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Ventura pushes Lesnar off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Lesnar moves in looking to clinch but Ventura pushes him off.
Lesnar fails to land with a series of punches.
Ventura scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Lesnar stuffs the takedown attempt from Ventura. Ventura gets slowly back to his feet.

Ventura closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lesnar to the mat! Lesnar manages to get full guard.

Lesnar has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ventura has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Lesnar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Ventura is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lesnar defends well.

Lesnar is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ventura has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Lesnar is looking to defend but Ventura has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Lesnar! Ventura pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Lesnar taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Quentin Ventura!
