3 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Guillermo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sergei Laschenko! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Laschenko works the jab nicely. Laschenko throws a body kick that misses and Guillermo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Guillermo. Laschenko wants to stand up but Guillermo is controlling him. Guillermo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Guillermo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Laschenko can do anything to dispel that myth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Guillermo content to stall in guard here. Laschenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guillermo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guillermo works a leg free and moves into half guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Guillermo wants to get back to his feet.
Guillermo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Laschenko keeps working. Laschenko looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Guillermo checks a low kick from Laschenko.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Some wild striking there from Laschenko.
Sergei Laschenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Laschenko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Guillermo takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Laschenko lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Guillermo backs up against the ropes.
Guillermo shoots in looking for a takedown but Laschenko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Guillermo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Laschenko throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Guillermo darts in and clinches Laschenko up against the ropes. Laschenko working hard to break the clinch. Guillermo is looking for a counter combo. Laschenko tries to keep at a distance but Guillermo has taken the fight into the clinch. Guillermo has Laschenko pressed against the ropes, preventing Laschenko from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Guillermo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Laschenko pulls his leg out and moves away.

Guillermo pushes Laschenko up against the ropes in a clinch. Guillermo is trying to pull guard but Laschenko turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch. Guillermo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Laschenko but Laschenko pushes him off and we're back to square one. Laschenko cracks Guillermo with a good jab. Laschenko throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Guillermo is breathing heavily. Guillermo moves out of range of the body kick. Laschenko misses with a body kick. Guillermo tries to clinch but Laschenko moves out of range. Laschenko misses with the combination.
Guillermo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Laschenko's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Laschenko duly obliges. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Guillermo shoots in and drives through. Laschenko sprawls well. Eddie Guillermo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Laschenko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Laschenko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Guillermo. Laschenko has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Laschenko swats away the attempt to clinch by Guillermo. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Laschenko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Laschenko throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Guillermo misses with a takedown attempt and Laschenko counters with a lovely straight right hand! Laschenko throws a right and a left that Guillermo avoids nicely. Laschenko lands a big head kick that sends Guillermo tumbling to the mat! Laschenko takes a step backwards and waves Guillermo back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Guillermo is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Guillermo clinches with his opponent.
Oh Guillermo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Laschenko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Laschenko is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Guillermo. Guillermo seems to have got his legs back now. Laschenko tries to sprawl but Guillermo drives through with a takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guillermo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Guillermo tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Laschenko. Laschenko makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Oooooh!!! Laschenko has knocked Guillermo down with a huge combo! Laschenko steps away and waves a wobbly Guillermo back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! Laschenko throws a half hearted mid kick. Laschenko tries a head kick but it misses.
Guillermo swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Guillermo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Laschenko.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Guillermo's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Laschenko connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Guillermo scrambles back to his feet. Laschenko lands a left and a right that send Guillermo crashing to the mat, dazed. Laschenko thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Laschenko throws a sloppy head kick and Guillermo moves out of range easily. Laschenko is breathing heavily. Laschenko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Guillermo wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Guillermo with a poor takedown and Laschenko counters with a stiff right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Guillermo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Laschenko pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Guillermo moves into the clinch. Laschenko tries to break free but Guillermo pushes him back against the ropes. Guillermo tries for a takedown. No joy.

Guillermo dives in for a single leg takedown but Laschenko sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes. Laschenko's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Laschenko duly obliges. Laschenko explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Guillermo takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Laschenko fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Guillermo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Donk. Laschenko catches Guillermo right on the button with a cross. Laschenko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Guillermo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Laschenko swats him away and circles back towards the center. Laschenko circles away from the clinch attempt.

Laschenko lands with a nice combination. Guillermo backs away looking to recover. Sergei Laschenko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Guillermo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Laschenko's guard. Laschenko is looking to stand up but Guillermo isn't so interested in that idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guillermo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Guillermo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Laschenko is proving hard to escape from. Guillermo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Guillermo lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Laschenko cracks Guillermo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Laschenko throws a sloppy head kick and Guillermo counters with a one-two to the body. Laschenko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Guillermo dives in for a single leg takedown but Laschenko sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes. Guillermo rushes Laschenko and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Guillermo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Laschenko takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Laschenko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Laschenko moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. A swing and a miss from Laschenko. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Guillermo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Guillermo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Laschenko throws a looping overhand right but Guillermo ducks down to avoid it. Guillermo takes a jab right on the kisser.
Laschenko goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Laschenko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. He's pushed Guillermo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Laschenko scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Laschenko gets caught napping as Guillermo dives in and scores a takedown. Laschenko manages to retain guard. Guillermo wants to stand but Laschenko is controlling his posture from full guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Guillermo controls from within his opponent's guard. Guillermo wants to get up but he can't break Laschenko's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guillermo passes into half guard. Guillermo tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Laschenko. Guillermo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Laschenko keeps working. It looks like Guillermo is going to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Guillermo ducks right into an uppercut from Laschenko. The fighters circle momentarily. Laschenko darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Laschenko misses with a head kick.
Guillermo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Laschenko tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Guillermo manages to move to mount!
Guillermo looking to secure an arm triangle but Laschenko defends it well. Eddie Guillermo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Laschenko taking shots to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Sergei Laschenko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Laschenko winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
