Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Powell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Guy Noir!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Powell moves into the clinch.
Noir looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Noir wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Powell gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Powell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Powell has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Powell in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Noir is working an open guard so Powell takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Powell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Powell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Powell's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Noir is looking to get to half guard.

Powell lands a big shot there that rocks Noir but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Powell tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Powell is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Noir is surviving well by controlling Powell's body position as best he can.

The referee stands the fighters back up. James Powell just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Powell takes the fight into the clinch.

Powell jumps into guard, dragging Noir to the mat.

Noir gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Powell stays in close to Noir's body and controls the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Noir is breathing heavily.

Powell is looking for a kimura but Noir is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Powell to get the leverage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Noir is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Powell has taken his back!

Noir is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Powell gets his way!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Powell has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Noir's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Noir's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Noir duly obliges.

Powell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Powell moves into the clinch.

Powell gets control of Noir's arms and successfully pulls guard. Powell will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Powell is looking for a triangle here but Noir uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Powell wants to control but Noir postures up.

And that's the end of the fight!
James Powell showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Powell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
