The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moura shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Moura showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Moura is looking to take a break and control but Jefferson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Moura has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jefferson is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Jefferson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Moura is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jefferson to the mat. Jefferson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jefferson dives in for a single leg takedown but Moura sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moura tries to improve his position but Jefferson has taken his back! Jefferson has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Moura tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Jefferson pushes Moura away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
