Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mantis Toboggan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abdul The Refugee! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Refugee tries to clinch up but Toboggan circles away and keeps his distance. The Refugee walks into a stiff left hand from Toboggan. The Refugee takes a shot right to the bread basket. Toboggan lands the left hand.
It looks like Abdul The Refugee has been cut. A low kick from The Refugee misses and Toboggan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Toboggan avoids the head kick by The Refugee.
As The Refugee tries to get set, Toboggan tries to push him back and clinch up but The Refugee manages to avoid the attempt. Toboggan scores with a sloppy right hand. The Refugee should have avoided that one. Toboggan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but The Refugee manages to avoid it. The Refugee has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Toboggan finds it's way round the side to connect with The Refugee's head. Toboggan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. The Refugee misses with a takedown and Toboggan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Toboggan bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps The Refugee's head backwards. The Refugee takes a body punch but keeps moving. The Refugee throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from The Refugee lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Toboggan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Toboggan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. The Refugee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling Toboggan to counter with a crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Toboggan lands a nice hook to The Refugee's body. The Refugee takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Toboggan throws a lazy right hand but The Refugee sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. The Refugee with the counter takedown but Toboggan avoids it easily. The Refugee takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Toboggan works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. The Refugee has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. The Refugee throws a head kick that misses. Toboggan scores with a sloppy right hand. The Refugee should have avoided that one.
The Refugee is rocked! Toboggan darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! The Refugee's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Toboggan before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
