Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Lawerence Hooper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Norman Crowley! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hooper has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Crowley finds it's way round the side to connect with Hooper's head. Hooper takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Crowley throws a good cross that connects.
It looks like Lawerence Hooper has been cut. Hooper has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Crowley finds it's way round the side to connect with Hooper's head. Crowley throws a leg kick that misses. Crowley has taken the fight to the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Crowley takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Hooper wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hooper working hard to break the clinch. Crowley lands a takedown into guard.
Hooper wants to stand up but Crowley is controlling him. Hooper looking for a sweep. Not yet Hooper, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crowley wants to get up but he can't break Hooper's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Crowley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Crowley has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hooper is proving hard to escape from. Hooper looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Crowley, as that shot connected.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hooper tries to keep at a distance but Crowley has taken the fight into the clinch. Hooper is trying to break free. Crowley breaks from the clinch.
Crowley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hooper on his heels. He'll look to pass Hooper's guard now, I'm sure. Hooper can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Crowley controls the pace. Hooper looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hooper is working an open guard so Crowley takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Crowley connects with a jab. Crowley cracks Hooper with a hook to the temple - Hooper is on wobbly legs here! Crowley swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Hooper falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Crowley wins by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Norman Crowley! In his post fight interview, Norman Crowley started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
