Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Franz Ferdinand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustavo Galveria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Franz Ferdinand!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gustavo Galveria!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Galveria drives through with a takedown into Ferdinand's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Galveria seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Ferdinand is trying hard to land a takedown here. Galveria sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Galveria throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ferdinand darts in looking for a takedown but Galveria gets double underhooks and turns Ferdinand into the cage.
Ferdinand pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Galveria counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Galveria scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ferdinand in his tracks.
Ferdinand shoots in looking for a takedown but Galveria manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ferdinand's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ferdinand throws a right and a left that Galveria avoids nicely.
Ferdinand shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Galveria defends it nicely.
Galveria looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Ferdinand gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Galveria to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
It looks like Galveria might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Ferdinand drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Ferdinand tries for a kimura but Galveria is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Galveria's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Galveria is looking for a sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ferdinand has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Ferdinand misses with a body punch
and Galveria counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ferdinand thinking.
Ferdinand attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Ferdinand throws a sloppy head kick and Galveria moves out of range easily.

Ferdinand looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Galveria is fending him off so far but Ferdinand persists. Nope, Galveria circles away and we're back to standing.

Galveria throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ferdinand was covering up waiting for the punch and Galveria finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Galveria stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ferdinand swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Galveria is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Galveria tries to free his leg and advance position but Ferdinand is retaining full guard.

Ferdinand is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Galveria is aware though and is defending well.
Galveria has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Galveria chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ferdinand can pounce on him.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Ferdinand fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Galveria.

Galveria stuffs the takedown attempt from Ferdinand. Ferdinand gets slowly back to his feet.
Galveria appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Gustavo Galveria showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Galveria lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Galveria throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nice straight punches there by Galveria. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Galveria.

Ferdinand takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Galveria has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Ferdinand is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Ferdinand jumps guard but Galveria turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Ferdinand changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Galveria fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Ferdinand will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Galveria is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Ferdinand shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Galveria as he jumps to the side.

Gustavo Galveria comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Galveria winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
