Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dillon Vaughn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Albrecht Habsburg! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Habsburg misses with a jab, cross combination.
Habsburg forces Vaughn back against the cage and clinches. Vaughn tries a knee to the head but Habsburg blocks it.
Vaughn has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Habsburg after a bit of a struggle. Vaughn swings wildly with an uppercut but Habsburg uses good head movement to avoid it. Habsburg pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Habsburg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vaughn paws at him with a jab and circles away. Habsburg throws a right and a left that both miss. Habsburg clobbers Vaughn with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Dillon Vaughn has been cut. Habsburg will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Vaughn feinted with a counter takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Habsburg tries to close the distance and clinch but Vaughn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Vaughn feinted with a counter takedown. Habsburg manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Vaughn connects with a nasty looking knee right to Habsburg's face.
Habsburg tries to break the clinch but Vaughn is controlling the position. Vaughn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Habsburg lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Habsburg throws a series of punches but Vaughn avoids them all with ease. Habsburg with a body punch. A glancing blow. This has been an exciting period of action! Vaughn circles away from the clinch attempt.
It looked like Vaughn wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. The fight moves into the clinch position. Habsburg manages to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vaughn slips under a jab from Habsburg. Habsburg misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A little feinted left hand from Vaughn on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Habsburg feints a jab promting Vaughn to slip. Habsburg then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Vaughn slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Vaughn is rocked! Habsburg looks winded! Vaughn gets tackled into the cage by Habsburg. Habsburg maintains the clinch. Oh Vaughn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Habsburg manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vaughn wants to control from the top but Habsburg keeps moving. Vaughn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Vaughn misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Vaughn staying calm. Habsburg is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Vaughn is controlling him well. Vaughn wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Habsburg, who protects the arm well. Vaughn lands an elbow. Habsburg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vaughn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Habsburg is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Vaughn asserts his dominance and retains side control. Vaughn seems to have got his legs back now. Habsburg is being controlled here. Habsburg wants to get back to his feet but Vaughn drags him back down. Vaughn throws a strike aimed at the side of Habsburg's head but Habsburg avoids it well. A lull in the action here as Vaughn stalls from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Vaughn misses with the ground and pound. Vaughn decides to stand up, so the ref orders Habsburg to his feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Habsburg looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Vaughn throwing a counter right hand but Habsburg manages to avoid it. Vaughn cracks Habsburg with an open hand slap. Habsburg tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Vaughn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Albrecht Habsburg dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dillon Vaughn's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Vaughn fails with a takedown attempt. Habsburg forces Vaughn back against the cage and clinches. The referee is keeping an eye on Habsburg - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Vaughn gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Vaughn is trying to push Habsburg away but Habsburg has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Vaughn drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Habsburg has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Vaughn doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Habsburg tries to work over Vaughn's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Habsburg pulls Vaughn into guard.
Habsburg can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vaughn controls the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Vaughn with a flurry of punches that miss. Vaughn controls from within his opponent's guard. Albrecht Habsburg has got the better of the ground game so far. Vaughn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Habsburg swivels though and keeps the full guard. Vaughn scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Vaughn trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Vaughn stands and steps away. Habsburg gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Habsburg moves in looking to clinch but Vaughn pushes him off. Habsburg fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vaughn, pushing him back against the cage. Vaughn blocks a body shot from Habsburg. Vaughn looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Vaughn wants to get back to striking at distance but Habsburg won't allow it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dillon Vaughn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Habsburg breaks from the clinch.

Vaughn pulls guard effortlessly. Habsburg stopping the sweep attempt from Vaughn. Habsburg is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Vaughn has his hands on Habsburg's head, controlling the position. Vaughn working for a triangle but Habsburg defends it easily.

Habsburg wants to stand and escape but instead Vaughn has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Habsburg wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Vaughn manages to pass to side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Habsburg can do anything to dispel that myth. Vaughn sitting and controlling from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Vaughn counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Vaughn. Habsburg pulls guard effortlessly. Vaughn cracks Habsburg with a solid left hand. Vaughn showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vaughn has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Vaughn passes into half guard. Habsburg takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Vaughn not landing any meaningful shots this time. Habsburg blocking the ground and pound attempt from Vaughn. Vaughn stalling. Vaughn seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Habsburg is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
