PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jess Wise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Magnetti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Magnetti dives in and scores a takedown into Wise's guard.
Magnetti makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Wise knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Magnetti on the ground.

Magnetti stands and steps away. Wise gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Magnetti looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Let's hope that Magnetti has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wise seems a little lost for a moment, as Magnetti dominates the positioning.

Magnetti stands up and beckons Wise to his feet.
Wise misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Magnetti lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Wise is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Magnetti tries to score a body lock takedown but Wise shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A bit of stalling here from Magnetti.

Magnetti breaks the clinch.

Magnetti closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Magnetti tries to move into full mount but can't pass Wise's legs.
Magnetti is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Wise will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Magnetti decides to stand up, so the ref orders Wise to his feet.

Magnetti clinches up with Wise and pushes him back against the cage.

Magnetti's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Magnetti stuffs the takedown.
A little jabbing left from Magnetti on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Wise shoots in for a takedown but Magnetti shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Magnetti shoots in and bounces Wise off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wise wants to get back to his feet but Magnetti passes into half guard.

Magnetti gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Wise blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Magnetti has Wise pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Wise manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Magnetti is working for takedown but Wise is calmly controlling the position for now.
Jess Wise has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Magnetti.
Wise wants to break free but Magnetti has control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Magnetti has Wise pressed against the cage, preventing Wise from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Magnetti wants to pass to mount but Wise is defending the position.
Wise is looking to get back to full guard here but Magnetti has managed to pass to side control instead.
Magnetti wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wise keeps working.
Wise is letting Magnetti control him for a moment.
Magnetti wants to control but Wise is keeping him busy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Magnetti. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Magnetti has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Wise!

Magnetti has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Magnetti drops an elbow to the side of Wise's head.

Magnetti is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wise doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Magnetti.
Magnetti takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Magnetti gets a double leg takedown into Wise's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Magnetti is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Magnetti decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wise, up you get!
Wise stuffs the takedown attempt from Magnetti. Magnetti gets slowly back to his feet.
Wise appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Antonio Magnetti showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Magnetti throws a hook but Wise blocks it.
Wise changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Wise has a takedown stuffed.

Magnetti feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Wise is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Magnetti is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Wise defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Magnetti.
Wise wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Magnetti working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Wise is doing well to defend. Magnetti seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Wise is forced to tap and this one is over!
