Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Abbott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Nash! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A cross from Nash lands. Abbott tries to clinch but Nash moves out of range. Nash scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Abbott tries to roll over but Nash keeps him under control. Abbott avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nash. Abbott manages to get to full guard.
Nash is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Abbott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nash makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Nash postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Abbott looking for a sweep. Not yet Abbott, not yet. Abbott pushes Nash off and scrambles back to his feet.
Nash drives through and clinches with Abbott against the cage.
Nash manages to break the clinch.
Abbott throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nash tries to close the distance and clinch but Abbott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Abbott throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nash's waist but Nash gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Abbott off to one side. Nash throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Abbott crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Scott Nash!
