Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Russell Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Munoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Munoz looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Munoz!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Munoz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Munoz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Munoz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Rose is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rose is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Munoz presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rose accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Munoz goes for a takedown attempt but Rose pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Rose shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Munoz is trying to defend but Rose finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Munoz misses with a series of wild punches.
No joy there for Rose, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Rose shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Munoz's guard.
Rose wants to stand but Munoz is controlling his posture from full guard.
Rose will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rose postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Rose would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Montreal inform us that Munoz has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Rose wants to stand but Munoz is controlling his posture from full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rose throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Munoz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Munoz darts in looking for a takedown but Rose gets double underhooks and turns Munoz into the cage.
Rose is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Munoz.
