Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Diego Ramirez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joseph Martinez! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martinez throws a right and a left that both miss. It looked like Ramirez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Martinez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ramirez. As Ramirez backs off Martinez throws a huge counter combo but Ramirez manages to avoid it all. Sloppy strikes from Martinez. Those never looked like landing. Martinez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Martinez wants it to stay on the feet. Martinez gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ramirez fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Ramirez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Martinez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Martinez clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramirez tries to pull guard but Martinez won't allow it.

Martinez pulls guard effortlessly. Martinez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ramirez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ramirez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martinez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ramirez avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Martinez. Martinez throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Ramirez to regain full guard. Martinez trying to control the position from guard on top but Ramirez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Martinez is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ramirez has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Martinez is looking to defend but Ramirez has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Martinez! Ramirez pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Martinez taps out and this one is all over!
