Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between BJ Pencil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stanley Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul has chosen Lick It Up as his entrance music. Stanley Paul is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paul showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pencil.

Stanley Paul dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Pencil has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pencil there as he acknowledges the shot. Pencil drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Paul shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Paul showed some decent athleticism there. Paul wants to get back to his feet.
Paul really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pencil. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pencil taking some punishment here, with Paul in his half guard. Well, if Paul is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Paul is tying to control. Pencil wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paul takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. It looks like Paul is going to stand back up.
Paul slips a nice elbow through Pencil's hands, connecting with Pencil's forehead. Paul is trying to control the action in half guard but Pencil is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Paul is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Paul working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paul is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Pencil manages to get to full guard. Paul pushes down on Pencil's leg and manages to get into half guard. Paul content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Paul has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Pencil works to full guard. Paul would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paul throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Paul trying to control but Pencil is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Paul tries to stand but Pencil is controlling from the bottom. Pencil looking for a guillotine here but Paul defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Pencil takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Paul tries to clinch up but Pencil circles away and keeps his distance. Paul scores with a jab to the body. Stanley Paul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Paul swings away with a leg kick that misses. Paul shoots in and bounces Pencil off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Stanley Paul has got the better of the ground game so far. Paul decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Paul wants to clinch but Pencil slips to the side and Pencil counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Paul is lucky that one didn't land flush. Paul closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Paul lands in his opponent's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Paul lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stanley Paul showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

No joy there for Paul, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Paul closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Paul has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Paul is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Paul is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's one minute gone in the round. Paul looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Pencil will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Paul counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A punch lands to the side of Pencil 's head but he takes it in his stride. Paul tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The crowd cheers as Paul lands an impressive looking overhand right. Pencil doesn't seem phased though. Pencil closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. You can see the frustration on Paul's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Paul can do anything to dispel that myth. Paul is looking to get back to his feet here but Pencil is keeping cool and he's managed to take Paul's back. Paul wants to get back to his feet. Stanley Paul is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paul is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Paul trying to control the action but Pencil just sinks the hooks in. Paul trying to get back to his feet but Pencil is in full control for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paul is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Pencil gets his way!

Paul knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Paul for a finish. And that's the end of the fight! Stanley Paul comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Paul has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
