Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hannibal Barca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Sito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barca comes into the arena with Carthage blaring out of the sound system. Sito is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: DMX - What's my name?. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sito throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
It looks like Hannibal Barca has been cut.

Sito looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Barca fails to land the takedown.
Sito was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Barca will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sito wants to counter with a clinch but Barca pushes him away.

Sito has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Sito lands with an uppercut that bounces Barca off the cage and back into range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barca feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fighters are battling for position here. Sito manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Sito bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Barca's head.

Barca drops back looking for a leg! Sito is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sito manages to kick Barca off! Barca jumps back into Sito's guard.
Sito is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sito is continuing to stall.
Sito not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Barca wants to control from the top but Sito keeps moving.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Barca won't allow Sito to get back to his feet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Barca tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sito defends well and Barca ends up having to push Sito into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Barca looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sito throws a right hand that Barca ducks under and follows up with a left that Barca also avoids with ease.
Hannibal Barca seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sito! But no joy.
Barca is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Sito throws a leg kick but Barca sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Robert Sito showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Barca lands a nice hook to Sito's body. Sito takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Sito swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Barca fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sito avoids it really well and circles away.
Barca throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sito tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Barca is in Sito's guard.
Sito has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Barca has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Sito lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sito is pressed up against the cage. Barca has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sito down to the mat. Sito avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Barca throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Barca ducks right into an uppercut from Sito.
Nice body punch from Sito.
Barca goes for a double leg but Sito avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sito continues to drive forward.

Barca shoots in and drives through. Sito sprawls well.
Barca throws the left hand but Sito avoids the punch easily.

Barca scores with a crisp jab that stopped Sito in his tracks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters circle momentarily. Barca darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Barca shoots in looking for a takedown. Sito tries to sprawl out of it but Barca keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sito manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sito avoids the body shot from Barca.
Sito takes one to the side of the head.
Barca closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Barca lands in his opponent's guard.

Sito manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barca manages to get himself to full guard.
Sito controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Sito won't allow Barca to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Barca is on top in guard.
Barca stops Sito from standing up.
Barca slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Barca trying to control the position from guard on top but Sito is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Barca stands and throws Sito's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sito tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Barca working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Sito is not content to let Barca control the position.

Barca lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Sito pushes Barca away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Barca gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hannibal Barca.
I think Barca has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
