Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ron Bob! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Victor Selassie! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bob moves in looking to clinch but Selassie pushes him off. Bob shoots in for a takedown but Selassie shows good takedown defense. We've been told by Bob's head coaches at Helsinki Fight Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Bob will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bob looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Selassie! Bob is chipping away with strikes.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Selassie can do anything to dispel that myth. Bob lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bob is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Selassie looks calm but he's in trouble here. Bob gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Selassie is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Bob lets go of the hold and Selassie can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ron Bob! An out of breath Ron Bob thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
