Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tarik Goldsmith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steven Lewis!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis leaves Goldsmith with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lewis throws out a counter right but Goldsmith avoids it with no problem.
Lewis walks into a stiff left hand from Goldsmith.

Lewis closes the distance and pushes Goldsmith back into the cage.

Goldsmith's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nice shot lands for Goldsmith.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Lewis tries to score a body lock takedown but Goldsmith shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lewis breaks from the clinch.
A cross from Goldsmith lands.

Goldsmith has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lewis tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Goldsmith doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Lewis fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Goldsmith blocks an elbow strike from Lewis.

Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Lewis has closed the distance and engaged Goldsmith in a clinch.

Goldsmith lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Lewis fails with a takedown attempt.
Tarik Goldsmith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Lewis.
Goldsmith wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Nice uppercut there from Goldsmith.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Goldsmith clinches up with Lewis and pushes him back against the cage.
Goldsmith lands a right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Goldsmith misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Lewis fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Lewis is trying to drag Goldsmith to the mat but Goldsmith just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Goldsmith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Goldsmith digs a good body shot into Lewis's ribs.

Lewis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lewis is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Goldsmith prevents Lewis from moving into mount.
Goldsmith defending against the ground and pound.
Sloppy strikes there by Lewis.
Lewis working the ground and pound but Goldsmith is defending the strikes.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Lewis tries to move to mount but Goldsmith blocks the move with his legs.
Goldsmith looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Goldsmith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lewis on the ground.
Lewis has knee on belly and moves into mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lewis thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Lewis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Lewis thowing shots but they're missing.

Lewis swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Goldsmith is now in Lewis's guard. A big mistake from Lewis there, giving up the dominant position!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Lewis is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tarik Goldsmith dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Nice straight punches there by Goldsmith. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Goldsmith.
Lewis finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Tarik Goldsmith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lewis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Goldsmith tries to close the distance and clinch but Lewis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sloppy strikes from Goldsmith. Those never looked like landing.
Goldsmith wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Lewis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Goldsmith's waist but Goldsmith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lewis off to one side.
Goldsmith swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Lewis swats away the attempt to clinch by Goldsmith.
Lewis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Goldsmith but Goldsmith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tarik Goldsmith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Lewis.

Goldsmith throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Tarik Goldsmith is winning the standup battle so far.
Goldsmith fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lewis on the side of the head.
Lewis walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A combination from Lewis does no damage.
Goldsmith is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lewis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Goldsmith defends well and Lewis ends up having to push Goldsmith into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A punch lands to the side of Lewis 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Goldsmith grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Lewis takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Goldsmith cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tarik Goldsmith!
