Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Rodriquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Estefan Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodriquez comes to the cage accompanied by Pistol Grip Pump-Rage Against The Machine. Sanchez is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Foo Fighters- My Hero. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Al Rodriquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Estefan Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez stuffs the takedown attempt from Rodriquez. Rodriquez gets slowly back to his feet. Rodriquez misses with a body punch
and Sanchez counters with a straight right hand. A right-left combo lands from Rodriquez. Rodriquez misses with a body shot
and Sanchez counters with a nice uppercut. Sanchez digs a good body shot into Rodriquez's ribs. Sanchez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rodriquez closes the distance and lands a one-two. Rodriquez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Rodriquez takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sanchez displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rodriquez is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sanchez. Sanchez swinging wildly here.
Rodriquez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Sanchez wants to control but Rodriquez postures up. Rodriquez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rodriquez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Rodriquez working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Sanchez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sanchez. The fighters are working up against the cage. Sanchez manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Rodriquez is looking to break free of the clinch but Sanchez has double underhooks. Sanchez tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Rodriquez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sanchez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Sanchez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sanchez throws a nice outside leg kick. Sanchez scores with a decent looking hook. Sanchez wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rodriquez looks to land a combination but Sanchez avoids it well. Sanchez slips under a jab from Rodriquez. Sanchez is looking to clinch. Sanchez throws a head kick that Rodriquez semi-blocks.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rodriquez is looking to clinch. Sanchez on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Sanchez gets tackled into the cage by Rodriquez. Rodriquez maintains the clinch. Rodriquez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sanchez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Al Rodriquez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rodriquez can't get the takedown.
Sanchez manages to break the clinch.
Rodriquez shoots in looking for a takedown but Sanchez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rodriquez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Sanchez is looking to clinch but Rodriquez is avoiding it.
Sanchez lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Sanchez doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Sanchez throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rodriquez shoots for a takedown but Sanchez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Sanchez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Sanchez lets loose with a powerful body kick. Rodriquez will feel that in the morning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez lands with a nice combination. Rodriquez backs away looking to recover.
Rodriquez is rocked! Sanchez catches Rodriquez with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Rodriquez forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Estefan Sanchez! Estefan Sanchez bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it. Al Rodriquez spoke after the fight, saying '"Wonder how much he paid the ref."'.
