Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bas Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazirac Gamero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kazirac Gamero is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bas Rutten! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kazirac Gamero! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gamero shoots in and drives through. Rutten sprawls well. Rutten throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rutten displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gamero. Gamero tries to sprawl but Rutten drives through with a takedown into half guard. Rutten looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Rutten keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gamero actively working from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rutten is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gamero is looking to improve his position but Rutten isn't that keen on the idea. Rutten takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gamero tries to hold on but Rutten pushes him away. Gamero tries to get back to half guard but can't. Rutten content just to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rutten lands a big elbow. Rutten controlling his opponent. A nice elbow there by Rutten. Gamero working to try and regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rutten content just to control the position here. Gamero is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Rutten cracks Gamero with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gamero tries to hold on but Rutten postures up. Rutten controlling his opponent. Rutten connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Rutten content just to control the position here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Further stalling from Rutten. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bas Rutten dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Gamero shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rutten as he jumps to the side. A little feinted left hand from Rutten on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Rutten connects with a solid leg kick. Rutten misses with a two punch combination.
Rutten misses with a low kick. Rutten misses with an uppercut. Gamero saw that one coming. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gamero is defended easily by Rutten. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rutten on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Gamero. Gamero obviously looking to wear him down.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rutten fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Rutten clinches. Rutten's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rutten is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gamero. Gamero unleashes a big counter combination but Rutten bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Rutten misses with a low kick. Despite the aggression on Gamero's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Gamero fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rutten misses the shot to the body. Gamero misses with a takedown attempt - Rutten sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Bas Rutten has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazirac Gamero. Rutten has managed to clinch.

Rutten breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rutten is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gamero can do to turn this around?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gamero misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Rutten looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Rutten drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Rutten showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Rutten passes into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rutten slows the pace down in half guard. Rutten wants to pass the guard but Gamero is defending well. Rutten working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Rutten slows the pace down in half guard. If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Rutten is stinking the place up with his stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Rutten tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gamero knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gamero trying to control from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rutten blocks the strikes from Gamero.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bas Rutten dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Rutten rushes Gamero and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Gamero drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Gamero takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rutten fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A head kick misses from Gamero. Gamero shoots in for a double leg but Rutten sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Gamero keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Gamero shoots in but no luck this time. A little feinted left hand from Rutten on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Bas Rutten is winning the standup battle so far. Rutten looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rutten has managed to clinch.
Rutten pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gamero fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Rutten throws a big counter combination but Gamero scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Rutten has closed the distance and engaged Gamero in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rutten breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

It looks like Kazirac Gamero has been cut. Rutten works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gamero is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rutten controls from within his opponent's guard. Gamero trying to keep a closed guard but Rutten is proving a slippery customer.
Rutten is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rutten pushes down on Gamero's leg and manages to get into half guard. Rutten controlling the action here. Rutten scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rutten in particular looking to stall. Gamero is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rutten's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rutten's back! Rutten manages to escape to his feet. Rutten throws a quick inside leg kick. Bas Rutten is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rutten looking to score a takedown here. Gamero is defending well but Rutten drives through and ends up in Gamero's guard. Rutten is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kazirac Gamero has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Bas Rutten showed his dominance in that final round. Well Rutten has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
