Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Brett Bolton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Xavier Eclipse! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eclipse darts in looking for a takedown but Bolton gets double underhooks and turns Eclipse into the cage. Bolton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Brett Bolton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xavier Eclipse. Eclipse tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bolton swats him away and circles back towards the center. Eclipse throws a sloppy head kick and Bolton counters by moving into the clinch. Bolton decides to pull guard. Bolton is looking for a triangle but Eclipse pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bolton is trying to keep Eclipse in close.

It's preventing any offense from Eclipse, at least for the moment. Bolton has a closed guard, preventing Eclipse from standing up. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bolton is pulling down on Eclipse's head to control his posture.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Eclipse tries to clinch there but Bolton circles away.
Eclipse will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bolton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Eclipse sprawls well initially but Bolton persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Eclipse tries to kick Bolton off but Bolton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Eclipse keeping control of the position. Eclipse looks winded! Eclipse tries to roll over but Bolton keeps him under control. Bolton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Bolton stalling.

Bolton is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Eclipse has managed to free his arm - good work. Bolton is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bolton throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Eclipse is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bolton's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bolton's back! Eclipse misses with an elbow to the head. You can see the frustration on Bolton's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bolton is trying to get back to his feet but Eclipse has full control of the position and if anything, Bolton has just worked his way into a worse spot. Eclipse tries to keep control of the position but Bolton is staying busy. Bolton is trying to break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight stays on the outside here - Eclipse looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Bolton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Eclipse tries to avoid it but Bolton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Eclipse to the ground. Eclipse escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Bolton keeps the fight on the outside. Bolton avoids the head kick by Eclipse.
Bolton avoids a punch combination nicely.

Eclipse is breathing heavily. Bolton patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Eclipse wants to escape the position.
Eclipse wants to get back to his feet. Eclipse is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Bolton gets his way!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Eclipse trying to get back to his feet but Bolton is in full control for now. Will Bolton go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bolton has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Eclipse is in real trouble here. Bolton gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Eclipse is tapping out! Bolton wins by rear naked choke!
