Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Wyatt Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Salazar has chosen Sum 41 - In Too Deep as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Ted Salazar enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wyatt Meyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ted Salazar! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salazar shoots for a takedown but Meyer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Salazar shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Meyer napping and manages to drive through into side control! Salazar scoring with punches and elbows. Meyer stops Salazar from passing to mount. Meyer is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Salazar advances to mount. Meyer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Salazar goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Meyer is on top in guard.
Meyer has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Salazar is proving hard to escape from. Salazar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Meyer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Meyer decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salazar gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Meyer to score an easy takedown into full guard. Salazar pushes Meyer off and gets back to his feet.
Salazar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Meyer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Salazar somewhat. Meyer appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Meyer scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Salazar pushes Meyer off and gets back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Salazar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Salazar lands in his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meyer wants to get back to his feet but Salazar is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Meyer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Salazar trying to control but Meyer is working from the bottom. Salazar postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Salazar throws an elbow that misses. Meyer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Salazar's guard. Nice move by Meyer! Meyer trying to control the position from guard on top but Salazar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Salazar wants to stand and escape but Meyer is having none of it. Meyer trying to control but Salazar is working from the bottom. Meyer is really struggling to control Salazar but he's trying to hold on to the position. Salazar has his feet on Meyer's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Salazar bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Salazar works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Meyer taking punishment in the form of punches.
Meyer is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salazar wants to control but Meyer is keeping him busy. Meyer taking punishment in the form of punches.
Meyer is rocked! Salazar landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Oh Meyer is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Salazar working the ground and pound. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A big shot lands for Salazar! That's hurt Meyer! Will he recover? Salazar fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ted Salazar! Ted Salazar was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
