Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lanny Raymond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Gerko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gerko is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: N.W.A - Cruisin in my 64. Johnny Gerko has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Lanny Raymond's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gerko has closed the distance and engaged Raymond in a clinch.
Raymond dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Raymond looking to stall.
Gerko lands a right hand that snaps the head of Raymond backwards.
Gerko blocks the elbow strike.

Gerko manages to pull guard.

Gerko kicks Raymond off and gets to his feet.

Gerko instigates a clinch.
Gerko working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Raymond lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Raymond is trying to push Gerko away but Gerko has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Gerko ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gerko no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gerko tries to land a sweep but no joy.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Raymond accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Raymond throws a big elbow that misses.
Raymond loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Gerko is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Raymond is controlling him.
Gerko is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Raymond postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Raymond postures up in Gerko's guard and throws a big left but Gerko blocks it.

Gerko is working an open guard so Raymond takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Gerko gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Raymond content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Gerko tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Raymond smiles and moves away.
Gerko tries for a takedown but Raymond circles away easily
and Gerko takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Gerko fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Danga de danga de dang - Gerko scores with a four punch combination!

It looks like Lanny Raymond has been cut.
Gerko fails to land with a series of punches.
Gerko looks winded!

Raymond closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gerko wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Gerko wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Raymond has him pressed against the cage.

Gerko breaks the clinch.

Gerko has Raymond up against the cage in a clinch.
Raymond stalling.
Gerko looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Raymond lands an uppercut.

Raymond gets control of Gerko's arms and successfully pulls guard. Raymond will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Gerko won't allow Raymond to sweep him here.

Raymond is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gerko defends well.

Gerko stands and steps away. Raymond gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Gerko has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Raymond seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Gerko can turn it around.

Gerko shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Raymond defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It's a brutal combination of punches from Gerko! Raymond is backing up but he can't get away as Gerko lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Raymond and ends the fight. Great knockout.

Johnny Gerko opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
