The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordon shoots in for a takedown but Baraka shows good takedown defense.
A punch lands to the side of Gordon 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Baraka stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Baraka wants it to stay on the feet.

Baraka closes the distance and pushes Gordon back into the cage.
Baraka lands a body shot in the clinch.
Baraka gets underhooks to prevent Gordon's takedown attempt.
Ephraim Baraka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Gordon.
Still in the clinch, Baraka scores with a nice short uppercut.

Gordon is fighting off a takedown attempt but Baraka is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Gordon to the mat. Gordon regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Baraka is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Baraka sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gordon's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Baraka takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
