PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thor Zeuz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Pickering (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zeuz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pickering, pushing him back against the cage.
Pickering lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Zeuz backwards.

It looks like Thor Zeuz has been cut.
Zeuz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Zeuz has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pickering uses from the top position.
Zeuz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Zeuz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pickering is looking to escape.

Pickering really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zeuz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pickering defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Zeuz.
Pickering is trying to reverse the position but instead Zeuz has taken his back - oops!
Zeuz tries to keep control of the position but Pickering is staying busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pickering can't escape the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Even with his hooks in, Zeuz manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Pickering just trying to survive but Zeuz is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Pickering might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Zeuz haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Zeuz is hanging on to Pickering's back as he tries to escape.

Zeuz has the hooks in. Pickering is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Zeuz is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Pickering is defending well though. Zeuz let's go of the attempt for now.
Pickering is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
