Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lee Wilson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Will Boulks! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilson sizes up Boulks with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Boulks closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wilson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Wilson managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Boulks.
Boulks is chipping away with strikes.
Wilson's coaches at Animal House have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Boulks throws a strike aimed at the side of Wilson's head but Wilson avoids it well. Wilson throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wilson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Wilson tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Boulks presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Boulks working away from the top, dropping strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boulks scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Boulks prevents Wilson from getting the reversal. Boulks landing shots from mount. Boulks with shots to the head and body - Wilson looks very uncomfortable down there. Wilson is desperately trying to improve his position but Boulks has a good base and remains in mount. Boulks has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Wilson's face.

Wilson is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wilson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Oh Wilson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Wilson takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Boulks's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Will Boulks! A relieved looking Will Boulks thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
