Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Homer Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franz Ferdinand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Homer Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Franz Ferdinand! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferdinand does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Ferdinand buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ferdinand pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Peterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ferdinand misses with a low kick.
Peterson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Ferdinand manages to circle out of the way. Ferdinand shoots in and gets a takedown into Peterson's guard. Peterson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Peterson gets the takedown into side control. Ferdinand sneaks out the side door and pushes Peterson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ferdinand throws a right and a left that Peterson avoids nicely. Ferdinand feints and as Peterson raises his hands in defense, Ferdinand changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Peterson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Peterson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ferdinand throws a head kick that misses. Ferdinand throws out a leg kick but Peterson moves out of range and Ferdinand only half commits. A head kick misses from Ferdinand. Ferdinand looks winded! Peterson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ferdinand! Peterson swings around for an armbar but Ferdinand sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Peterson's guard. Peterson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ferdinand can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ferdinand stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peterson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ferdinand throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peterson looking for a guillotine here but Ferdinand defends easily.
Ferdinand passes easily into side control. Nice work. Ferdinand working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ferdinand tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ferdinand has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ferdinand working away. Ferdinand tries to advance to mount but Peterson denies him. Ferdinand is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ferdinand is trying to get an arm triangle but Peterson is defending well. Peterson is looking for a sweep. Ferdinand throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Franz Ferdinand dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Peterson checks a low kick from Ferdinand. A lazy body kick from Ferdinand and Peterson counters with a lovely shot to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Peterson. Ferdinand does a little dance to reset his feet. Ferdinand throws a lazy right hand but Peterson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Peterson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Good standup being displayed there by Peterson as he connects with a hook. Franz Ferdinand is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ferdinand lands a nice looking kick to the body. Peterson takes a step back to recover. Ferdinand tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ferdinand walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ferdinand tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Ferdinand is breathing heavily. Peterson stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Ferdinand throws up his legs and catches Peterson in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Peterson tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Ferdinand! That came out of nowhere!
