Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Castro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bjarni Avalon! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Avalon gets in close and instigates a clinch. Castro drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Castro has Avalon pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Avalon manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Castro tries for a takedown but Avalon manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Castro. That's going to take a lot out of him. Avalon tries to break the clinch but Castro is controlling the position. Avalon has had enough of the clinch but Castro keeps him there for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Avalon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Castro changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Avalon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Castro has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Castro there as he acknowledges the shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avalon throws a series of punches but Castro avoids them all with ease. Nice uppercut lands for Avalon. That snapped Castro's head back.
It looks like Dan Castro has been cut. Avalon closes the distance and pushes Castro back into the cage. Avalon leaning his opponent against the cage. Avalon is trying to force a seperation but Castro has the dominant position. Avalon gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Castro.
Avalon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Castro breaks the clinch.
Avalon rushes Castro and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Castro escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Avalon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Castro went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Avalon takes the fight into the clinch. Avalon working some nice short punches in the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castro looking for a takedown. Castro pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Avalon lands with a shot to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Avalon. Castro does a little dance to reset his feet. Avalon closes the distance and pushes Castro back into the cage. Castro is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Avalon gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Castro is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Avalon to keep the fight standing. Castro looking for a takedown. Castro goes for a takedown in the clinch but Avalon prevents it.
Avalon is trying to push Castro away but Castro has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Avalon prevents the takedown attempt.
Castro tries to pull guard but Avalon holds him up against the cage and eventually Castro drops back down to his feet.
Avalon wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Castro has him pressed against the cage. Avalon breaks the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Avalon checks the leg kick. Castro gets tackled into the cage by Avalon. Avalon maintains the clinch. Castro manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bjarni Avalon dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dan Castro's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Avalon closes the distance and clinches. Castro is trying to drag Avalon to the mat but Avalon just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Castro can't get the takedown.
Castro is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Castro. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Castro tries for a takedown. No joy.

Avalon drops Castro with a huge uppercut! Castro drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Avalon is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
