Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcelino Case (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joel Blacky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joel Blacky acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcelino Case!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Joel Blacky!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Case throws a leg kick but Blacky sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Blacky throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Case.

Case is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Blacky's half guard.
Blacky is trying to escape back to his feet but Case uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Case stands up and beckons Blacky to his feet.

Case manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Blacky on his heels. He'll look to pass Blacky's guard now, I'm sure.
Blacky is adopting a defensive guard.

Case thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Case avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Case has gone for a leg lock! Blacky slips out almost immediately though and dives into Case's guard.

Case tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Blacky trying to control but Case is working from the bottom.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Case holds on and takes a little breather.
Blacky must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Blacky stopping the sweep attempt from Case.
Blacky throws a big right hand that misses.
Blacky wants to get up but he can't break Case's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Blacky trying to control the position from guard on top but Case is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Case is pulling down on Blacky's head to control his posture.

Blacky got a little sloppy there for a moment and Case has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blacky has managed to get both his arms back between Case's legs - danger averted.
Blacky postures up in Case's guard and throws a big left but Case blocks it.
Blacky trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Blacky wants to stand but Case has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Case has momentary wrist control but Blacky slips an elbow through the middle.

Blacky postures up and lands a big shot to Case's brow.
Blacky preventing the sweep.
Case looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Blacky puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Case is staying active underneath Blacky, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Case is concentrating on defense, preventing Blacky from advancing position.
Well, if Blacky is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Case is trying to get back to full guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Case manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Blacky distracts Case with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Case bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blacky's guard.

Case trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Blacky is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Case really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Case tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Blacky tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Case wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcelino Case will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Case closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Blacky pushes Case off and gets back to his feet.
Joel Blacky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Case tries to keep at a distance but Blacky has taken the fight into the clinch.
Blacky goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Blacky looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Blacky turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Case sneaks back into half guard.
Case wants to get back to full guard.
Case gets full guard.

Case lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Case lands a couple of digs.
Blacky is trying to control the position but Case postures up.

Blacky shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Blacky showed some decent athleticism there.
Blacky is breathing heavily.
Case tries to get to full guard but Blacky has control of the leg.

Blacky is taking a breather. Case says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Case has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Blacky is working away from the top position though.
Blacky wants to take a breather but Case is having none of it.
Case wants to get back to full guard.
Case desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Blacky is working for a kimura but Case is defending it quite comfortably.
Case moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Case is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Blacky thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Case pulls Blacky in close to prevent any damage.
Case manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Blacky manages to get himself to full guard.

Blacky wants to get back to his feet but Case is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Case postures up and lands a big shot to Blacky's brow.

Case stands up and waves to Blacky to follow him.
Blacky tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Case manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
As Blacky looks to move away, Case throws a big counter combo but Blacky just gets out of the way.

Case gets caught flat footed, as Blacky shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Case is pulling down on Blacky's head. It's preventing any offense from Blacky, at least for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joel Blacky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Case rushes Blacky and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Blacky breaks the clinch.
Case shoots in for a takedown but Blacky shows good takedown defense.

Blacky looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Case gets full guard.
Case looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Case trying to keep a closed guard but Blacky is proving a slippery customer.
Case looking for a sweep. Not yet Case, not yet.

Case has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Blacky is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Case.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Blacky is looking to take a break and control but Case is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Blacky lands a nice forearm strike.
Case taking a bit of punishment here - Blacky scoring with strikes.
Case struggling a bit here.
Case is looking to reverse the position.

Blacky has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Blacky connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Blacky throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Blacky lands a head kick. Case smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Blacky drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Case sneaks back into half guard.
Case moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Blacky stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Case swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Case controls Blacky momentarily but Blacky frees himself.
Case controlling the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Case is on top in guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Blacky throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Case postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Blacky throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Blacky tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Case drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Blacky manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Case has Blacky in his guard.

Case pulls Blacky in close to his closed guard and prevents Blacky from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Case wants to sweep here but Blacky controlling him for the moment.
Blacky has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Well Blacky has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
