Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Diego Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martinez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ramirez's guard. Ramirez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Martinez controls the pace. Martinez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Ramirez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Martinez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ramirez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Martinez throws a wild combination but nothing lands. As Martinez backs off Ramirez throws a huge counter combo but Martinez manages to avoid it all. No, Martinez has managed to get both his arms back between Ramirez's legs - danger averted. Martinez wants to control from the top but Ramirez keeps moving. Martinez throws a big right hand that misses. Martinez trying to control the position from guard on top but Ramirez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ramirez looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Martinez is defending well. Ramirez quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Martinez has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Ramirez celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Diego Ramirez! A very excited looking Diego Ramirez rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
