Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Don Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barin Ivantsov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barin Ivantsov has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Don Wallace's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Don Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Barin Ivantsov!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivantsov tries to clinch but Wallace is having none of it.
Wallace is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Wallace darts in looking for a takedown but Ivantsov gets double underhooks and turns Wallace into the cage.
Ivantsov avoids the head kick by Wallace.

Ivantsov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wallace napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Wallace throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Ivantsov looks to land a combination but Wallace avoids it well.
Wallace shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ivantsov pinned against the cage. Ivantsov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Ivantsov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wallace was covering up waiting for the punch and Ivantsov finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wallace can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ivantsov controls the pace.
Ivantsov wants to pass the guard but Wallace is keeping the position.

Wallace working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ivantsov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ivantsov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wallace will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ivantsov tries to free his leg and advance position but Wallace is retaining full guard.
Ivantsov wants to get up but he can't break Wallace's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Wallace is trying to keep Ivantsov in close.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ivantsov looking to pass the guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Ivantsov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wallace manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ivantsov is looking to clinch but Wallace is avoiding it.
Barin Ivantsov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ivantsov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wallace looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Wallace wants to control but Ivantsov postures up.
Wallace taking punishment in the form of punches.
Wallace tries to buck Ivantsov off but Ivantsov is having none of it.
Ivantsov staying calm.

Ivantsov has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Ivantsov instigates a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wallace is trying to push Ivantsov away but Ivantsov has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Wallace wants to break the clinch but can't.

Ivantsov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ivantsov fails in his attempt to clinch.
Wallace dives in and grabs Ivantsov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ivantsov pushes down on Wallace's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Wallace. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Ivantsov! Wallace is out on his feet! Ivantsov rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Wallace is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Wallace is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barin Ivantsov!
