Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pat Ocon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Noah Gundersen!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gundersen misses with a few strikes there.
Gundersen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ocon circles away quickly and effectively.
Ocon fails with a takedown attempt.
Gundersen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ocon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gundersen swivels and escapes.

Ocon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gundersen napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Gundersen throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gundersen lunges at Ocon with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ocon's hand.
Gundersen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Gundersen gets caught napping as Ocon dives in and scores a takedown. Gundersen manages to retain guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Gundersen has momentary wrist control but Ocon slips an elbow through the middle.
Gundersen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ocon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ocon lands a couple of digs.

Ocon stands up over Gundersen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Gundersen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gundersen wants to stand but Ocon is controlling the position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ocon's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Ocon lands a couple of elbows.
Ocon connects with a couple of short punches.
Ocon stops Gundersen from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ocon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ocon pushes down on Gundersen's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Ocon is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Ocon is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Ocon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gundersen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ocon wants to take a breather but Gundersen is having none of it.
Ocon takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gundersen can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ocon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gundersen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Gundersen manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Ocon has been working on his balance at KING OF PAIN, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Gundersen.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ocon misses with a takedown attempt - Gundersen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pat Ocon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gundersen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ocon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gundersen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Ocon throws a chopping leg kick but Gundersen manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Gundersen moves into range and connects with a jab.
Ocon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gundersen swivels and escapes.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gundersen scores with a sloppy right hand. Ocon should have avoided that one.
Gundersen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ocon manages to avoid it.

Ocon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ocon is breathing heavily.
Gundersen wants to get back to his feet but Ocon drags him back down.
Gundersen tries to control but Ocon manages to take his back.
Ocon lands a shot to the body.
Gundersen rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Gundersen tries to get to full guard but Ocon has control of the leg.

That was a close round but I would say that Pat Ocon will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Ocon tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gundersen defends well and Ocon ends up having to push Gundersen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ocon closes the distance and clinches up with Gundersen, looking for a takedown. Ocon pushes Gundersen against the cage but Gundersen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
