Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dave Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ric Landeverde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomes comes to the cage accompanied by Roadhouse Blues. Landeverde is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Napalm & Erruption- In San Francisco. Ric Landeverde has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dave Gomes's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Gomes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ric Landeverde! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Landeverde pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Gomes lands a body shot.
Gomes throws a quick inside leg kick. Landeverde lands a head shot. Landeverde connects with a body shot. Gomes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Landeverde. Landeverde avoids the body shot from Gomes.
Landeverde needs to keep his hands up - Gomes had a free shot at his head there. Gomes dives in for a single leg takedown but Landeverde sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Gomes feints and then cracks Landeverde's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Landeverde down. Gomes connects with a body shot that sends Landeverde's belly button to the back. Landeverde has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Landeverde listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Landeverde throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Landeverde keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Landeverde bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gomes's head. A nice leg kick lands there from Gomes. Gomes misses with a leg kick and Landeverde counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Gomes throws a predictable looking body shot
and Landeverde counters with a nice uppercut. A decent looking cross lands there for Gomes. Landeverde misses with a straight right. It appears Gomes was looking to counter with a kick there. A telegraphed right hand from Gomes misses the target. Landeverde throws a poor cross that misses
and Gomes counters with a slapping leg kick. Gomes ducks right into an uppercut from Landeverde. Gomes lands with a right hand. Gomes lands a nice leg kick that just misses Landeverde's sensitive parts. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Landeverde with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Gomes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Landeverde moves away. Landeverde uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gomes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Landeverde was well out of range. Poor timing from Gomes. Landeverde throws a jab when Gomes was well out of range. Landeverde misses with a leg kick. Landeverde throws a jab but it's blocked by Gomes. Gomes closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Landeverde to the mat! Landeverde manages to get full guard. Landeverde is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gomes is aware though and is defending well. Gomes forces his way into half guard. Gomes is keen to just control but Landeverde is a slippery customer. Landeverde avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gomes. Landeverde is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Landeverde is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Gomes is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Gomes seems content to control. We've been hearing good reports from Gomes's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Gomes is keen to just control but Landeverde is a slippery customer. Landeverde trying to control here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gomes passes to full mount! Gomes wants to control the pace but Landeverde is squirming around nicely. Landeverde is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gomes tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Landeverde is in all sorts of trouble here.
Landeverde is squirming around, avoiding Gomes's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Gomes dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Landeverde slips a straight right by Gomes. Gomes scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Landeverde is looking for a sweep. Landeverde is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gomes's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Landeverde wants to improve his position but Gomes is controlling well.
Gomes wants to work for an arm triangle but Landeverde is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Landeverde is not content to let Gomes control the position. Landeverde looking for submissions from an awkward position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gomes prevents Landeverde from improving his position. Landeverde manages to get to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gomes tries to free his leg and advance position but Landeverde is retaining full guard. Landeverde looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gomes has picked Landeverde up and slammed him! Landeverde can't keep hold of the triangle and Gomes manages to pass to side control! Landeverde prevents Gomes from improving position. Gomes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Landeverde, who protects the arm well. Gomes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Landeverde tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Landeverde throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Gomes has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Landeverde! Landeverde is looking to get to half guard. Gomes tries to control but Landeverde wriggling away. Landeverde keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Landeverde tries to hold on but Gomes postures up. Gomes with the ground and pound from mount. Landeverde is desperately trying to improve his position but Gomes has a good base and remains in mount. Landeverde sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gomes is thwarting Landeverde's attempts to control the position. Gomes seems to be looking for submissions.
Dave Gomes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gomes is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Gomes trying to mount his opponent but Landeverde defends it. Landeverde wants to get back to full guard. Landeverde wants to control but Gomes is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gomes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Landeverde is just riding it out for now. Gomes eventually gives up the hold. Gomes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Landeverde keeps working. Landeverde works his way to full guard. Good work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gomes tries to free his leg and advance position but Landeverde is retaining full guard. Gomes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Landeverde can do to turn this around? Gomes postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Gomes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Landeverde's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Gomes dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Gomes looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Gomes is looking to take a break and control but Landeverde is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Landeverde is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Landeverde is not content to let Gomes control the position. Landeverde looking for subs from the bottom but Gomes mounts him! Gomes lands a big shot there that rocks Landeverde but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. BOOM! Gomes connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's one minute gone in the round. Landeverde is looking to improve his position but Gomes isn't that keen on the idea. Gomes lands a heavy elbow. Gomes has control of Landeverde's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Landeverde regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Landeverde defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gomes. Gomes punishing his opponent with strikes. Landeverde keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gomes controlling his opponent. Landeverde tries to improve his position but Gomes has taken his back! Gomes has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Landeverde tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Gomes pushes Landeverde away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
