Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Harry Briggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tyson Clarkson! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Briggs gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Clarkson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Clarkson won't allow Briggs to sweep him here. Clarkson controlling from the top position. Briggs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Clarkson trying to control but Briggs postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clarkson is trying to get back to full guard. Clarkson is controlling Briggs's position as best he can from this difficult position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Briggs lands a nice short elbow. Well, if Briggs is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Clarkson trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Briggs lands a nice shot to the head. Clarkson flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Briggs pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clarkson tries to lock up and control but Briggs gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Briggs working away from the top, dropping strikes. Clarkson wants to control but Briggs is having none of it. Briggs sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Briggs has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Clarkson wants to hold on but Briggs pushes him away. Briggs lands a nice shot to the head. Clarkson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Clarkson is trying to escape the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Briggs controlling the pace for now. Clarkson is bucking up trying to escape but Briggs cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Clarkson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Briggs raining down shots from the mount! Briggs lands a nice shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Briggs breaks from Clarkson's wrist control and lands an elbow. Clarkson taking shots to the head. Clarkson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Briggs controlling the pace for now. Briggs pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Briggs won't let Clarkson get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Briggs controlling the position easily from mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Briggs stops Clarkson from standing up. Briggs showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Clarkson has an active guard here but Briggs has managed to pass into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Clarkson is looking to control Briggs's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Clarkson avoid being mounted? Briggs wants to free his trapped foot but Clarkson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Briggs stops Clarkson from getting back to his feet.

Briggs perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Clarkson is looking to control Briggs's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Clarkson avoid being mounted? Clarkson is looking for a sweep. Briggs is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Briggs looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Clarkson! Briggs cracks Clarkson with a big right hand but Clarkson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Clarkson is trying to improve his position. Clarkson is trying to work for a sweep but Briggs has mounted him! Clarkson in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Briggs lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Briggs sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Briggs lands a heavy elbow. Clarkson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Briggs has control of Clarkson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Clarkson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Clarkson is looking to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clarkson gets back to half guard. Clarkson wants to control but Briggs is keeping busy.
Clarkson is positioning himself well to prevent Briggs advancing to mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Clarkson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Briggs scores with a couple of nice shots. Briggs prevents Clarkson from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Harry Briggs dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Briggs doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Briggs dives in and grabs Clarkson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Clarkson pushes down on Briggs's head and hops out. Left hook, right uppercut from Clarkson.
It looks like Harry Briggs has been cut. Briggs fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Briggs is defended easily by Clarkson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harry Briggs. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clarkson drives through and clinches with Briggs against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clarkson lands a hook to the side of the head. Clarkson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Briggs darts in looking for a takedown but Clarkson gets double underhooks and turns Briggs into the cage. Briggs shoots in for a takedown but Clarkson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Clarkson wants to counter with a clinch but Briggs pushes him away. Clarkson lands a left and a right that send Briggs crashing to the mat, dazed. Clarkson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Briggs is rocked! Briggs gets tackled into the cage by Clarkson. Clarkson maintains the clinch. Oh Briggs is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Clarkson slowing the pace effectively. Clarkson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Clarkson is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Briggs is in big trouble! Clarkson is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Briggs. Poor guy.
