PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taai Solosolo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lambis Kobelikos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Taai Solosolo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Lambis Kobelikos!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kobelikos scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Solosolo doesn't seem bothered though.
Kobelikos looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Solosolo is on top in guard.

Kobelikos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kobelikos wants it to stay on the feet.

Solosolo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kobelikos's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Solosolo connects with a nice short shot to Kobelikos's temple.

Solosolo is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Solosolo is looking to take a break and control but Kobelikos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kobelikos is defending against the submission attempts here by Solosolo.
Solosolo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kobelikos with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Solosolo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Solosolo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kobelikos is just riding it out for now. Solosolo eventually gives up the hold.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taai Solosolo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Solosolo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Solosolo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Solosolo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Solosolo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Solosolo postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Kobelikos badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Solosolo around the waist but Solosolo pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Solosolo is the winner by TKO! Solosolo jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Taai Solosolo!
