Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wyatt Meyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dimitri Payet! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Payet fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Meyer has a takedown stuffed. Payet moves into the clinch successfully.

Payet decides to pull guard. Meyer throws a big elbow that misses. Payet wants to get back to his feet but Meyer is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Meyer is looking to work some ground and pound but Payet has wrist control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meyer stays in close to Payet's body and controls the position. Meyer stopping the sweep attempt from Payet. Payet looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's one minute gone in the round. Payet is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Meyer controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Meyer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Payet throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Meyer's corner is telling him to maintain position. Meyer wants to stand but Payet is controlling his posture from full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Payet clinches with his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Payet moves into the clinch. Meyer is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Payet gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wyatt Meyer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Meyer is pressed up against the cage. Payet has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Meyer down to the mat. Meyer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Payet wants to land a leg kick but Meyer is out of range. Meyer seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Payet moves into the clinch. Meyer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Meyer is looking to break free of the clinch but Payet has double underhooks. Payet lands a nice shot to the body. Meyer is trying to drag Payet to the mat but Payet just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Meyer is trying to break the clinch but Payet has him pressed against the cage. Payet tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Payet wants to control from the top but Meyer keeps moving. Payet missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Meyer pushes Payet off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Meyer is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Payet. Payet clinches up with Meyer and pushes him back against the cage. Meyer wants a takedown but no success here.

Meyer is trying to break free. Meyer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Meyer keeps control of Payet as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Payet tries to pull guard but Meyer won't allow it.
Payet ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Payet no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Meyer throws a big elbow that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dimitri Payet dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Payet shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Meyer as he avoids it easily. Meyer showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Payet.
Meyer throws a big counter combination but Payet scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Payet will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Dimitri Payet seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Meyer clinches up against the cage. Payet is defending well against a takedown attempt. Payet jumps guard but Meyer turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Wyatt Meyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dimitri Payet. Payet drops down looking for an ankle pick but Meyer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Payet defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Meyer. Meyer shoots in and drives through. Payet sprawls well. Payet pushes Meyer up against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nice sprawl there from Payet as Meyer shoots in. Meyer swats away the attempt to clinch by Payet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Payet. Payet circles away from the clinch attempt.
Meyer tries to clinch but Payet moves out of range. Payet throws a right hand that Meyer ducks under and follows up with a left that Meyer also avoids with ease. Payet gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Meyer walks away with a smile on his face. Payet gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Payet throws a leg kick and Meyer moves into the clinch. Payet lands a body punch. Payet jumps into guard, dragging Meyer to the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Meyer has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Payet is proving hard to escape from. Payet working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Meyer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Meyer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Payet looking to control.
Meyer postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Payet has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Meyer throws a big right hand that misses.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Payet misses with a double jab.
Payet lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Meyer circles away quickly and effectively. Meyer drops down looking for a counter takedown but Payet sprawls and moves away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dimitri Payet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Meyer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Payet pinned against the cage. Payet gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Payet has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Payet drives through and clinches with Meyer against the cage.

Meyer wants to stand but Payet is controlling his posture from full guard. Meyer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Payet looking for a sweep. Not yet Payet, not yet. Wyatt Meyer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dimitri Payet is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Meyer throws an elbow that misses. Payet uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Meyer's guard. Nice move by Payet!
And that's the end of the fight! Dimitri Payet comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Payet has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
