Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Renji Abarai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abarai comes to the ring accompanied by Before I Forget. Luke Tyson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Renji Abarai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luke Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abarai gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Abarai working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tyson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tyson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Tyson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Tyson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Abarai works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Tyson looking to sit in guard and control but Abarai gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Abarai won't allow Tyson to sweep him here.
Abarai is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Abarai has gone for a leg lock! Tyson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Abarai's guard.

Tyson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Abarai works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Abarai has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Abarai wants to sweep here but Tyson controlling him for the moment.
Tyson wants to pass the guard but Abarai is keeping the position.
Abarai can't keep his opponent in guard - Tyson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Abarai makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Abarai.

Tyson is posturing up here but Abarai has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Tyson tries to roll out but it's too tight and Tyson has to tap! Slick submission there by Abarai!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Renji Abarai!
An out of breath Renji Abarai thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
