The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loco looks to throw the jab but Meikalainen is out of range.
Loco uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Loco doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Meikalainen counter with a right hand.
A slapping leg kick lands for Loco.

Loco attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Meikalainen wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Meikalainen lands a big right hand that sends Loco crashing to the mat! Meikalainen stays standing though and waves Loco back to his feet!

Meikalainen feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Loco sprawling to the canvas! Loco rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Meikalainen finish him?!

Meikalainen is looking to clinch.
Loco shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Meikalainen sprawls well. Meikalainen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Loco gets slowly back to his feet.
We've been told by Meikalainen's head coaches at The Coffee Shop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Matti Meikalainen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Loco.
Meikalainen shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Loco throws a series of punches but Meikalainen avoids them all with ease.

Meikalainen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Meikalainen is looking to stand up but Loco isn't so interested in that idea.
Meikalainen controls Loco momentarily but Loco frees himself.
Loco postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Meikalainen wants to stand and escape but Loco is having none of it.

Loco looks to land a combination. Meikalainen sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Meikalainen tries to close the distance and clinch but Loco swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Meikalainen appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Loco throws a hook but Meikalainen blocks it.
Meikalainen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Meikalainen drops Loco with a beautiful combination! Loco stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Meikalainen is looking for the KO!
It looks like El Loco has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Loco misses with a hook. Meikalainen ducked under it nicely.
Loco tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Meikalainen swivels and escapes.
Matti Meikalainen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Meikalainen cracks Loco on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Loco falls backwards against the cage. Meikalainen follows up with more strikes that drop Loco to his knees. Meikalainen keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Loco! This one is all over!
