Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sterling Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doug Hoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doug Hoo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sterling Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Doug Hoo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but Hoo persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Silva makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Silva. Hoo tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom. Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hoo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hoo wanted to stand there but Silva had control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hoo connects with a couple of short punches. Hoo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hoo's waist but Hoo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side. Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Hoo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hoo showed some decent athleticism there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva with the active half guard here but Hoo passes nicely into side control. Hoo is chipping away with strikes.
Hoo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Hoo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hoo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Silva is breathing heavily. Hoo prevents Silva from getting the reversal. Silva tries to lock up and control but Hoo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Hoo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoo wants to control the pace but Silva is squirming around nicely. Hoo controlling from the full mount. Silva is working to get back to half guard.
Hoo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoo's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Despite being in the dominant position, Doug Hoo just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hoo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Silva! Hoo controlling his opponent. Hoo can't control as he wanted to and Silva manages to get the fight back to his half guard. Hoo stands up and beckons Silva to join him on the feet. Hoo feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, Hoo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Silva looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva keeping moving, preventing Hoo from controlling successfully. Hoo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Silva looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hoo is one step ahead there. Hoo stands up and waves to Silva to follow him. Hoo gets the takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Silva is looking to reverse the position. Hoo lands a nice forearm strike. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hoo controlling his opponent. Hoo looking to control but Silva is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Silva tries to reverse the position but Hoo maintains control. Hoo looking to control and managing it successfully. Hoo wants to control the pace but Silva is squirming around nicely. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Hoo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Silva! Hoo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hoo looking to control but Silva is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Hoo sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Silva is trying to escape the mount.

Let's hope that Hoo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Hoo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hoo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hoo wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hoo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Hoo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Hoo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Silva wants to get back to full guard. Hoo has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Silva taking some punishment here, with Hoo in his half guard.

Hoo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Silva is in trouble now - Hoo has advanced to mount! Hoo stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Hoo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hoo working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

And that's the end of the fight! Doug Hoo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hoo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
