PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cosma Svendsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Canijo Enano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Svendsen comes to the cage accompanied by Rocky. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cosma Svendsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Canijo Enano!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Svendsen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Enano tries to avoid it but Svendsen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Enano to the ground. Enano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Enano counters by moving into the clinch.
Svendsen is looking to break free of the clinch but Enano has double underhooks.
Svendsen is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Enano to keep the fight standing.
Svendsen tries to circle away but Enano has him pinned against the cage.
Enano has Svendsen pressed against the cage, preventing Svendsen from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Svendsen is trying to pull guard but Enano turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cosma Svendsen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Enano has hold of one of Svendsen's legs. Svendsen is fighting the takedown attempt but Enano gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Enano is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Svendsen wants to improve his position but Enano is controlling well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Svendsen is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Svendsen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Enano seems to be looking for submissions.
Svendsen is looking to control Enano's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Svendsen avoid being mounted?

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Enano shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Svendsen looks like he's trying to stand up.

Enano stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Svendsen to get to his feet.

Svendsen clinches up against the cage.
Enano has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Svendsen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Svendsen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Enano.
Svendsen tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Enano has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Svendsen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

It looks like Canijo Enano has been cut.
Svendsen is working for takedown but Enano is calmly controlling the position for now.
Svendsen tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Enano just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cosma Svendsen will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Canijo Enano's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Enano's coach down at Cozad Amsterdam was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Enano's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Enano has eaten all the pies!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Canijo Enano has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Enano is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Canijo Enano showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Enano has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Horrible takedown attempt by Svendsen or perhaps it was just good defense by Enano, which made it look bad.
Svendsen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Enano closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Enano is stalling here. Svendsen is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Enano seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Svendsen has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Svendsen is staying active underneath Enano, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cosma Svendsen.
I think Svendsen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
