The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ferrell is trying to pull guard but Simpson has him pressed against the cage.
Ferrell is trying to drag Simpson to the mat but Simpson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Ferrell turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ferrell manages to end up in side control.

Simpson tries to close the distance and clinch but Ferrell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
