PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slade Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Soul Jah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jah has chosen Bob Marley - Buffalo Soldier as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Soul Jah!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson misses the shot to the body.
Wilson scores with a body shot.
Wilson looks to land a body kick but Jah moved away.
Jah feints a counter leg kick.
Slade Wilson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jah takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Wilson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jah counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wilson looks for the body kick but Jah saw that one coming.
Wilson stalks Jah and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jah's face. Jah staggers backwards, shaken.

Jah can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wilson controls the pace.
Jah seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Wilson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Wilson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Wilson tries for a takedown but Jah sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Slade Wilson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jah manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Wilson keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
