Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chevy Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reino Kanki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kanki is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I'm Shipping Up To Boston. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chevy Ford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Reino Kanki! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ford cracks Kanki with a right hand to the side of the head. Ford blocks a head kick by Kanki.
Ford throws out a leg kick but Kanki moves out of range and Ford only half commits. Kanki darts in trying to clinch enabling Ford to counter with a crisp jab. Ford displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kanki. We've been told by Ford's head coaches at Turbo Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Ford closes the distance and clinches. Ford lands a body punch in the clinch. Ford keeps control of Kanki as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Ford pressing his opponent against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ford lands with a right to the head. Ford lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kanki backwards. We've been informed that Kanki has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Ford scores with a shoulder strike. A nice right hand lands inside from Ford. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ford swings away with an uppercut that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kanki tries to break free but Ford pushes him back against the cage. Ford throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Ford looks for the body kick but Kanki saw that one coming. Ford tries a head kick but it misses.

It looks like Chevy Ford has been cut. Kanki throws a lazy head kick and Ford counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Kanki misses with a body shot.

Ford gets through Kanki's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Kanki is trying to force a seperation but Ford has the dominant position. Ford breaks from the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kanki ducks right into an uppercut from Ford. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kanki takes a body punch but keeps moving. Kanki stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ford. Ford throws a leg kick but Kanki sees it coming and checks it nicely. Ford throws a wild body kick that Kanki sees coming a mile off. Ford connects with a looping right hand.

Kanki misses with a body kick. Ford lands with a slapping head kick. Kanki keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ford. Ford bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kanki's head. Kanki tries to clinch there but Ford circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kanki blocks the body kick.
Kanki walks into a straight right hand from Ford. Kanki closes the distance and clinches up with Ford, looking for a takedown. Kanki pushes Ford against the cage but Ford circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kanki lets loose with a powerful body kick. Ford will feel that in the morning. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Ford!
Kanki is rocked! Ford stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ford wants it to stay on the feet. Kanki is still on wobbly legs! Can Ford finish him? Chevy Ford has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reino Kanki. Ford uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kanki. Kanki takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Kanki looks winded! Kanki takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Kanki takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Ford cracks Kanki with a left hook right on the temple and Kanki goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Ford lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Kanki is OK!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Chevy Ford! Chevy Ford really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Sun-Tzu logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty. Reino Kanki was interviewed post fight and said 'I'll be back'.
